The bulk of the collection documents Holland's time as Library Director at Pepperdine University from 1981 to 1989. Included are articles written by Holland both before and during his time at Pepperdine; notes, meeting minutes, and programs from conferences; correspondence between Holland and other administrators both inside and outside of the University; plans for Payson Library's renovation; files documenting librarians efforts to achieve faculty status at Pepperdine University; memos, notes and photographs regarding a flood in Payson library which damaged a large amount of library books; and notes, photographs and other materials used to plan library exhibits. The collection includes Holland's files from the time he served as Director of Libraries at Pepperdine University from 1981 to 1989.
